Window Clippings; It’s Like Skitch For Windows (But Not)
I envy people who actually have a decent mac with a passion, because they can use the amazing software that is Skitch. It’s quite so amazing because you can quickly nab transparent screenshots of your Mac desktop, play with them, and shove them on an image sharing site such as Flickr or even skitch.com itself. Skitch is much funner than popping open a Windows Live Messenger window and pressing “Ctrl + V” with a screenshot loaded clipboard, only to find that your contact ends up getting spammed with dodgy 50% quality JPEGS named “sdwewr23423423.tmp.jpg” because you’ve ended up pasting it more than once. For Windows users there is a better way, Window Clippings.
Window Clippings allows Windows users to take transparent screenshots of their Windows Vista (or XP) desktop, and set the program to save screenshots to a folder or your clipboard. A recent third party addition to the program lets users upload screenshots to an FTP server as soon as the screenshot has been captured using the program, then copies the file URL to your clipboard so you can send it to someone via IM, without the crappy transfer speeds.
The small *minor* drawback is that you will have to have a spare FTP + HTTP server lying around, but a cheap A Small Orange account has that covered. ;)
