So, I thought after my overnight deletion of firefoxstart.co.uk, what the hell am I going to have as my homepage now? I really don’t like the default Google/Firefox one all that much. Well, the answer comes in another project that doesn’t breech Mozilla guidelines, and IMHO is much, much cooler that the default firefox start page or any start page for any other browser. (With the exception of safari’s default homepage - that’s cool.)

It’s called “Browser Start”, and is designed for any browser. Except IE. At the moment.

It has the same switchable tab style as my version of the Firefox Start page did, but this time it isn’t Firefox specific. And, now that the page doesn’t use random quotes, it doesn’t have to go through the PHP engine, meaning that it is purely HTML. This brings the loading time to a complete minimum, meaning that the fact that is hosted in America barely noticeable. Yeah, uptime will probably be sucky, and the design is very image based - but hey, it’s early days right? Watch this space.

I’m not sure if I’ll add the documentation on how to make it your homepage as it’s really just for my benefit mainly, and I’m thinking that even the biggest dumbass person who doesn’t read documentation can work out how to change their homepage.
